Student placements and work experience

Are you already enrolled in a Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing) and are seeking a host for your practical placement? Baptcare can help! As part of student placement and work experience opportunities, you’ll be completing your practical experience alongside designated mentors and our experienced, supportive team, gaining the opportunity to strengthen your practical skills under the expert guidance of industry trainers.

Practical Work Placement usually requires a minimum of 120 hours at one of our sites. Different schools break up their placement differently, with some option to do two blocks of 60 hours or one full block of 120 hours. Reach out to us and we can discuss your circumstances.

Application for Practical Work Placement is done by submitting a Placement Application Form. All placements at Baptcare are administered centrally which means you only have one point of contact regardless of which location or course you are applying for. Once your application is received, it will be processed and you will receive an outcome normally within 5 working days.

Before your placement commences you will need to provide copies of:

  • A National Criminal Check completed within the immediate previous 6 months from the time you apply for placement.
  • A signed Placement Agreement (provided by your school).
  • Although vaccination evidence of COVID-19 and Influenza are not mandatory, we would highly encourage you to obtain and submit these, for your safety and that of our residents and staff.
  • You will also be provided with a copy of Baptcare’s Code of Conduct, which needs to be read and signed to acknowledge that you commit to upholding our Code of Conduct standards.
