Nestled between green farming pastures on tree-lined Pearsons Road, Baptcare Amberlea is right near the heart of Drouin.
The gentle, rolling hills and paddocks surrounding us pay perfect homage to Drouin’s history as a dairy farming region. On site, you’ll find beautiful gardens and a homely, inclusive environment where everyone is welcome.
When you want to head out, we’re conveniently less than a kilometre from the main roundabout in town. It’s an easy walk to visit nearby cafes and shops, and along the way you’ll pass beneath gorgeous red plumes of eucalyptus ficifolia: the flowering gumtrees our town is famous for.
Living well together
We’re a thriving community at Amberlea
‘Exceptional care’: it’s different for every person, depending on your story and your situation. That’s why our approach is entirely tailored to what you like, what you love to do, and your unique needs. You’ll feel it when you arrive at Amberlea—an inclusive and close-knit community where everyone is supported to live the way they choose.
There’s a real sense of togetherness in our community. In fact, we even solve jigsaw puzzles together! There’s always a huge puzzle on the go that both residents and carers help to solve, one piece at a time. Of course, you’re also supported to spend time on your own terms too. Our team members will help you one-on-one with the things you love to do.
Live well, your way
Living well looks different for everybody. Whatever you love to do—whatever makes your day and makes life meaningful—we’re here to make it happen.
Some of the hobbies and activities we support residents with include:
- Arts and crafts: whether painting, drawing, or other artistic pursuits, we love to support your creative passion.
- Cooking: from baking your favourite recipe to exploring a new creation.
- Group trips to Gippsland’s community attractions and festivals. We share a bus with our friends at Abbey Gardens, another Baptcare community in nearby Warragul.
- Spiritual care and support: we have a popular chaplain service every Tuesday, with huge attendance from all walks of life. We honour your journey and support whatever spirituality means to you.
- Everyone loves to get involved in our weekly all-of-home wordsearch, which is run by visiting volunteers.
What's important to you?
These are some examples, but living well looks different for every person. It’s all about taking the time to understand your preferences, hobbies and passions. We’d love to chat through your favourite things to do when you visit us for a tour.
