Join community groups and make valuable connections
Being a part of community helps everyone feel more connected. Your Local Area Coordinator can talk with you to explore what’s available for you to build stronger connections in your local community.
‘Building stronger connections’ means different things for different people depending on your goals.
It could be things like:
- playing in a sports team
- getting work experience
- joining an art class
- volunteering
Why is it important to be part of my community?
It feels good when you find an activity you like to do. You might not know that a certain activity will help you to build skills or achieve a goal, but that’s how we can help.
With the support of your Local Area Coordinator, you can find, join, or set up community groups or activities that could:
- help you discover hobbies or passions and feel connected with others
- create opportunities to meet new friends
- make you feel more included
- build skills and meet people that can help you get a job
- increase your confidence
