About disability support
Get the support you need to live the life you want
On this page:
If you’re living with disability—or caring for someone living with a disability—we can work with you to find the support you need, delivered in the way that works for you.
We currently provide these supports in Tasmania and South Australia. If you live in another state, please visit ndis.gov.au/contact/locations to find services near you.
It doesn’t matter if you have a plan with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or not. We can help you plan for your future and help you to understand what supports are available to you.
Call us to chat with a friendly Baptcare team member and get started now:
- TASMANIA: 1800 290 555
- SOUTH AUSTRALIA: 1800 960 595
We understand that everyone is different. We all have unique goals and challenges.
We’re here for the long-term, to serve your individual needs.
We work with you to give you choice and control at every stage of your journey. In this way, you can live life and achieve your goals, your way.
Supporting children with disability in their early years
We can also support families of children with developmental delay or disability in Tasmania’s North or South West.
Our Early Childhood Team will work with you to identify the type of support your child may need.
How do I get access to disability supports?
You’ll be supported by a Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Think of your LAC like a guide. Their role is to help you understand your options, then connect you with the support you want or need.
Call us today to get started:
- TASMANIA: 1800 290 555
- SOUTH AUSTRALIA: 1800 960 595
Your LAC can support you to:
- Help you understand the NDIS
- Understand your NDIS Plan so you can access services
- Connect you with the right services and supports in your community
What kind of support can I access?
We help to connect you with the right people or organisations. This may include getting you started with the NDIS, if you haven’t already.
We can help you to connect with government services and community groups.
Government services could be…
- Healthcare: things like hospital or GP visits, physiotherapists, and mental health services.
- Education: things like accessing schools, special education programs, learning plans, or assistants to help you at school or university.
- Employment: help in finding a job or training for the type of jobs you’d like.
- Social support: things like housing assistance, money to help with groceries and other expenses, or counselling.
- Transport: support to access public transport, specialised transport services, and help with transport costs.
Community Groups are things you might be interested in that help you feel included, empowered, and independent. There are many different examples of Community Groups.
