In many ways, Coasthaven is the best of both worlds. We enjoy relaxed coastal living—just a stone’s throw from Corio Beach Foreshore—but we’re only a few minute’s drive from the heart of Geelong, with bustling cafes, restaurants, shops and more.
Just ten minutes north, you’ll find Victoria’s Golden Plains, with lots of farms, miles of golden canola, rugged bushland, river valleys, and rolling hills. Many of our residents have a farming background or join us from the local area. It’s a huge part of why we’re such a strongly connected and supportive community.
You’ll feel that strong sense of community spirit when you drop by for a visit: where every person is celebrated and supported to live life your way.
Living well together
We’re a thriving community at Coasthaven
At Coasthaven, your care is exactly that: your care. You’re unique—with your own experiences, wants, needs and story—and your experience here reflects that. We take the time to listen to you, then do whatever we can to ensure your days are meaningful and filled with purpose.
You’ll join a welcoming, inclusive community that’s very independent, but we still love spending lots of time together. With nearby shops and plenty to do in Geelong, we often get out and about for coffee or some lunch, a scenic visit to the country, or a relaxing stroll around our local grounds. There’s also Baptcare housing which shares our block, so there are always plenty of friendly faces around and a strong community feel. Being in the heart of Geelong, we always keep one eye on the mighty Cats in the AFL too. We often do daytrips down to their stadium, but everyone’s team is equally supported!
Live well, your way
Living well looks different for everybody. Whatever you love to do—whatever makes your day and makes life meaningful—we’re here to make it happen.
Some of the hobbies and activities we support residents with include:
- Many residents love music, so you’ll often hear sing along groups, music therapy or dancing. We have a piano on site which many staff play, and sometimes residents have a turn on the ivories too. In between the musical interludes, our pool table and indoor bowling get a fair workout.
- Our beautiful gardens are thanks to the many green thumbs who call Coasthaven home. Many residents have farming backgrounds and bring their impressive know-how to our grounds.
- Concerts or games of footy on the big screen: many residents love the Cats in the AFL, but there’s plenty of support for other teams too. Someone’s always having a ball on site!
- A vibrant social schedule where everyone’s invited: afternoon happy hours, birthdays and regular high tea. Arts and crafts groups are also popular, leather making is a favourite for many residents.
What's important to you?
These are some examples, but living well looks different for every person. It’s all about taking the time to understand your preferences, hobbies and passions. We’d love to chat through your favourite things to do when you visit us for a tour.
